When exporting your fan data from the Audience tab, you'll be shown some options for how your .csv export is configured. Here's what those options mean:

Artist Exports

Export by

When exporting by Fan, you will get a file where fans are deduped by email address. This means that if a fan pre-saves using a Spotify account under sample@email.com and then later pre-saves under an Apple Music account registered to sample@email.com - that email address will only show up once.

When exporting by Music service, you will get a file where each fan's accounts are individual records. So if the sample@email.com is registered to a Spotify and an Apple Music account that pre-saved for an artist, you will see each account on its own row. When you select to export by Music service, you will see more data for the service if you select to include Service details in your export - like if the fan is paying for their service, the profile URL, and other stats where available.

If you opt to include the Fans with no email, you will see all entries with as much information as we have. Fans that do not share their email address with an auth (from a Pre-Save or Action Page) will show up with any Location, Service, or Segment details where available.

Include

The Export by and Display fans with no email dictate how many rows are in your .csv, and the Include will determine how many columns.

Fan details will include the email address and birthdate of the fan.

Location will include postal code, city, region (for the United States), and country.

Email marketing status will include the current status (subscribed or unsubscribed) and the status reason (e.g. confirmed, hard bounce, or fan unsubscribe).

Service details will include the name of the service tied to the fan (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.), the service subscription level (paid or free), profile URL, profile followers, and whether they are Future Save fans on that service.

Segment will include any segments - both default and custom - where that fan can be found.

Business Exports

Export by

Business-level exports have different options for exports. You can export by Fan, which will dedupe all fan interactions across the entire artist roster by email address. In this export, both Services and Artist folders will be semicolon separated in a single columns. Also, Email marketing status is not available in the Fan export since marketing statuses are unique per folder.

Exporting by Artist will show export each unique fan email + artist folder pairing. In this export, you may see the same email address multiple times, but you will be able to see the Email marketing relationship it has with each folder where it can be found.

Include

In both the Fan and Artist exports, you'll see a column for Artists that will show the name of the artist folder where that fan can be found.

Fan details will include the email address and birthdate of the fan.

Location will include postal code, city, region (for the United States), and country.

Email marketing status is only available for exporting by Artist and will include the current status (subscribed or unsubscribed) and the status reason (e.g. confirmed, hard bounce, or fan unsubscribe).

Service details will include the name of the service tied to the fan (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.).

Segment will include any segments - both default and custom - where that fan can be found in Business-level segments.
