Is advertising an existing post the same as boosting or promoting the post?

The option of choosing an existing post for your Facebook ads is the same as promoting it. There are a few differences between a promoted post and a boosted post on Facebook. One key difference is that a promoted post can be shown on all available ad placements in Meta while a boosted post can only be displayed in the Facebook Newsfeed, on Instagram, and Messenger.
